The Amarillo Police Department has partnered with KACV-TV, the Better Business Bureau and the Area Agency on Aging to present:

Trick$ of the Trade (Thursday, January 20 at 7:00 pm.) is a new documentary that finally opens up the con criminal playbook and shows viewers how it’s done — and then shows them how to avoid becoming the criminal’s next easy mark. Featuring profiles of convicted criminals, fraud victims, academic experts and securities regulators, this new public television documentary unravels the mysteries of investment fraud to reveal how these fraudsters psychologically manipulate their victims. You can watch a preview online. Repeat: Thursday, March 31 at 7:00 p.m.

Trick$ of the Trade: A Panhandle Perspective (Thursday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m.) will look at the impact of investment fraud in the local community. Ellen Robertson Green will host the special which will feature area experts who will answer the questions you want to know. Repeat: Thursday, March 31 at 8:00 p.m.

Trick$ of the Trade: Protecting Your Money: Please join us at our FREE EVENT on Saturday, March 26 from 9:00 a.m. to noon to learn from local experts about investment fraud. The event will take place at the Amarillo College Business and Industry Center, 1314 S. Polk. Seating is limited, so call 371-5277 to register. You can also register online.

Host a Viewing Party: No matter how old you are, everyone is susceptible to investment fraud. Tricks$ of the Trade gives you the opportunity to bring your friends and family together to discuss the tactics used by scammers and what you can do to avoid becoming a victim.
