KACV congratulates all participants for their hard work, amazing creativity and powerful messages to help encourage their friends and fellow students to stay in school.
In addition to cash prizes for all winners, 1st place students will work with KACV production staff to prepare their messages for on air broadcast this spring.
American Graduate is a community engagement effort from KACV, in partnership with Amarillo Independent School District and Panhandle Twenty/20, to help Texas Panhandle youth stay in school. Targeting students and adult community stakeholders, the project has involved both on-air and online efforts to improve community awareness around the high school dropout issue and what we can do to improve high school completion rates. This project is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting through the National Center for Media Engagement.
